The Montesquieu Institute Campus The Hague (MI-CDH) is dedicated to research, education, and dissemination of knowledge. It studies the evolution of issue priorities on national and the European Union agendas over time. The research covers a broad array of themes clustered around agenda setting, political attention, policy making, and multi-level governance.

We study political institutions such as the European Council, the European Commission, the Dutch government and parliament, as well as political parties and public opinion in the European Union. Some of our projects examine attention dynamics and preference formation on the full spectrum of issues on the agenda; others focus on particular policy areas. The educational activities and events focus on topical questions related to the research framework and target Bachelor or Master students, professionals, and interested citizens. The mission of the centre is to conduct high-quality scientific analysis, train the leaders of tomorrow, and engage with society on prominent contemporary issues.
